नीचे गिरने का अर्थ है जड़ हो जाना और ऊपर उठने का अर्थ है ब्रह्माकाश हो जाना। अब इन पांच तत्वों से बड़कर भी कुछ है क्योंकि सृष्टि रचना में उन्हीं का सबसे बड़ा योगदान रहा है।
अवकाश और आकाश के पूर्व अंधकार :
आकाश एक अनुमान है। दिखाई देता है लेकिन पकड़ में नहीं आता। धरती के एक सूत ऊपर से, ऊपर जहां तक नजर जाती है उसे आकाश ही माना जाता है। लेकिन ऊपर अंतरिक्ष भी तो है।
आकाश अर्थात वायुमंडल का घेरा- स्काई। खाली स्थान अर्थात स्पेस। जब हम खाली स्थान की बात करते हैं तो वहां अणु का एक कण भी नहीं होना चाहिए, तभी तो उसे खाली स्थान कहेंगे। है ना? हमारे आकाश-अंतरिक्ष में तो हजारों अणु-परमाणु घुम रहे हैं।
खाली स्थान को अवकाश कहते हैं। अवकाश था तभी आकाश-अंतरिक्ष की उत्पित्ति हुई। अर्थात अवकाश से आकाश बना। अवकाश अर्थात अनंत अंधकार। अंधकार के विपरित प्रकाश होता है, लेकिन यहां जिस अंधकार की बात कही जा रही है उसे समझना थोड़ा कठिन जरूर है। यही अद्वैतवादी सिद्धांत है।
जब तक एक है तो दूसरा भी होगा लेकिन अद्वैत सिद्धांत कहता है कि वह परम एक, शुद्ध एक। सारे धर्म द्वैतवादी है लेकिन हिंदू धर्म अद्वैतवादी है। सचमुच सबकुछ दो जैसा दिखाई देता है लेकिन है नहीं। अंत में एक ही हाथ लगेगा दो जैसा व्यवहार करता हुआ।
नर और मादा सृष्टि की सबसे अंतिम रचना है। नकारात्मक और सकारात्म शक्तियां भी बाद की उत्पत्ति है। इसलिए कहना की ईश्वर के विपरित शैतान है यह ईश्वर के खिलाफ बात है। सबसे बड़ी ईशनिंदा यही है कि आपने शैतान को ईश्वर के विपरित माना या उसे ईश्वर के समकक्ष रखा। जो लोग द्वैतवादी है वह अधूरे हैं।
सृष्टि के आदिकाल में न सत् था न असत्, न वायु थी न आकाश, न मृत्यु थी न अमरता, न रात थी न दिन, उस समय केवल वही था जो वायुरहित स्थिति में भी अपनी शक्ति से श्वास ले रहा था। उसके अतिरिक्त कुछ भी नहीं था।' -ऋग्वेद
ब्रह्म (आत्मा) से आकाश अर्थात जो कारण रूप द्रव्य (ब्रह्माणु) सर्वत्र फैल रहा था उसको इकट्ठा करने से अवकाश उत्पन्न होता है। वास्तव में आकाश की उत्पत्ति नहीं होती, क्योंकि बिना अवकाश (खाली स्थान) के प्रकृति और परमाणु कहां ठहर सके और बिना अवकाश के आकाश कहां हो। अवकाश अर्थात जहां कुछ भी नहीं है और आकाश जहां सब कुछ है।
आकाश के पश्चात वायु :
आत्मा से अवकाश, अवकाश से आकाश और आकाश से वायु की उत्पत्ति हुई। वायु आठ तरह की होती है। सूर्य से धरती तक जो सौर्य तूफान आता है वह किसकी शक्ति से यहां तक आता है? संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड में वायु का साम्राज्य है, लेकिन हमारी धरती की वायु और अंतरिक्ष की वायु में फर्क है।
वायु को ब्रह्मांण का प्राण और आयु कहा जाता है। जैसे- हमारे शरीर में हमारे बाद मन की सत्ता है। फिर प्राण की और फिर जल, अग्नि और शरीर की। शरीर और हमारे बीच वायु का सेतु है।
वायु के पश्चात अग्नि :
वायु में ही अग्नि और जल तत्व छुपे हुए रूप में रहते हैं। वायु ठंडी होकर जल बन जाती है गर्म होकर अग्नि का रूप धारण कर लेती है। वायु का वायु से घर्षण होने से अग्नि की उत्पत्ति हुई। अग्नि की उत्पत्ति ब्रह्मांड की सबसे बड़ी घटना थी। वायु जब तेज गति से चलती है तो धरती जैसे ग्रहों को उड़ाने की ताकत रखती है लेकिन यहां जिस वायु की बात कही जा रही है वह किसी धरती ग्रह की नहीं अंतरिक्ष में वायु के विराट समुद्री गोले की बात कही जा रही है।
अग्नि से जल की उत्पत्ति : वायु जब बदल गई विराट अग्नि के गोले में तो उसी में जल तत्व की उत्पत्ति हुई। अंतरिक्ष में आज भी ऐसे समुद्र घुम रहे हैं जिनके पास अपनी कोई धरती नहीं है लेकिन जिनके भीतर धरती बनने की प्रक्रिया चल रही है।
जल से धरती की उत्पत्ति हुई : सचमुच ऐसा ही हुआ। जलता हुआ जल कहीं जमकर बर्फ बना तो कहीं भयानक अग्नि के कारण काला कार्बन होकर धरती बनता गया कहना चाहिए कि ज्वालामुखी बनकर ठंडा होते गया। अब आप देख भी सकते हैं कि धरती आज भी भीतर से जल रही है और हजारों किलोमिटर तक बर्फ भी जमी है। धरती पर 75 प्रतिशत जल ही तो है। कोई कैसे सोच सकता है कि जल भी जलता होगा या वायु भी जलती होगी?
जीवन की उत्पत्ति :
अब यहीं से जीवन की उत्पत्ति की शुरुआत की बात कर सकते हैं कि कैसे बने पेड़, पौधे, फिर जलचर जंतु, फिर उभयचर, फिर नभचर तथा अंत में थलचर जीव-जंतु। आत्मा का नीचे गिरना जड़ हो जाना है और आत्मा का ऊपर उठना ब्रह्म हो जाना है।
यह नीचे गिरने और ऊपर उठने की प्रक्रिया अनंत काल से जारी और आज भी चल रही है। जब आत्मा जड़ बन गई तो उसने फिर से उठने का प्रयास किया और फिर वह मोटे तौर पर जल में पौधों के रूप में अभिव्यक्त हुई। फिर जलचर के रूप में, फिर उभयचर और फिर थलचर के रूप में। थलचर में भी आत्मा ने मानव के रूप में खुद को अच्छे तरीके से अभिव्यक्त किया। यह क्रमश: हुआ। कैसे?
आकाश के पश्चात वायु, वायु के पश्चात अग्नि, अग्नि के पश्चात जल, जल के पश्चात पृथ्वी, पृथ्वी से औषधि, औषधियों से अन्न, अन्न से वीर्य, वीर्य से पुरुष अर्थात शरीर उत्पन्न होता है।- तैत्तिरीय उपनिषद
ब्रह्मांड का मूलक्रम- अनंत-महत्-अंधकार-आकाश-वायु-अग्नि-जल-पृथ्वी। अनंत जिसे आत्मा कहते हैं। पृथ्वी, जल, वायु, अग्नि, आकाश, मन, बुद्धि और अहंकार यह प्रकृति के आठ तत्व हैं।
यह ब्रह्मांड अंडाकार है। यह ब्रह्मांड जल या बर्फ और उसके बादलों से घिरा हुआ है। इससे जल से भी दस गुना ज्यादा यह अग्नि तत्व से घिरा हुआ है और इससे भी दस गुना ज्यादा यह वायु से घिरा हुआ माना गया है।
+वायु से दस गुना ज्यादा यह आकाश से घिरा हुआ है और यह आकाश जहां तक प्रकाशित होता है, वहां से यह दस गुना ज्यादा तामस अंधकार से घिरा हुआ है। और यह तामस अंधकार भी अपने से दस गुना ज्यादा महत् से घिरा हुआ है और महत् उस एक असीमित, अपरिमेय और अनंत से घिरा है।
उस अनंत से ही पूर्ण की उत्पत्ति होती है और उसी से उसका पालन होता है और अंतत: यह ब्रह्मांड उस अनंत में ही लीन हो जाता है। प्रकृति का ब्रह्म में लय (लीन) हो जाना ही प्रलय है। यह संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड ही प्रकृति कही गई है। इसे ही शक्ति कहते हैं।
