सभी देवी-देवताओं की कृपा प्राप्त हो जाती है।

रात में शिवलिंग के पास लगाना चाहिए दीपक
महालक्ष्मी की कृपा पाने और मालामाल बनने के
लिए एक बहुत प्राचीन उपाय बताया गया है, वह
उपाय है रोज रात में शिवलिंग के पास दीपक
लगाना। जो भी व्यक्ति रोज रात में
किसी सिद्ध शिव मंदिर जाकर वहां शिवलिंग के
पास दीपक जलाता है, उसे सभी देवी-देवताओं
की कृपा प्राप्त होती है और उसके जीवन से धन
की कमी दूर हो जाती है।

यह उपाय आज भी चमत्कारी रूप से शुभ फल प्रदान
करता है। ऐसा नियमित रूप से करने पर
व्यक्ति की कुंडली के सभी ग्रह दोष दूर हो जाते
हैं। बुरा समय टल जाता है, यदि कोई
अनहोनी होने वाली हो तो वह भी इस उपाय से
टल सकती है।
रात के समय जब घोर अंधेरा रहता है, तब शिवलिंग
के समीप प्रकाश करने पर महादेव अतिप्रसन्न होते
हैं। शिवपुराण के अनुसार शिवजी की इच्छा मात्र
से इस सृष्टि का निर्माण हुआ है, इसी वजह से
भोलेनाथ की प्रसन्नता से सभी देवी-देवताओं
की कृपा प्राप्त हो जाती है।
शास्त्रों के अनुसार प्राचीन काल कुबेर देव
(देवताओं के कोषाध्यक्ष) पूर्व जन्म में चोर थे। वे
मंदिरों की धन-संपदा चोरी किया करते थे। एक
रात वे भगवान शिव के मंदिर में चोरी करने पहुंच
गए। रात होने की वजह से वहां काफी अंधेरा था।
अंधेरे में चोर को कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं दे रहा था।
तब उस चोर ने चोरी करने के लिए एक दीपक
जलाया। दीपक के प्रकाश में उन्हें मंदिर की धन
संपत्ति साफ-साफ दिखाई देने लगी।
वह चोर मंदिर का सामान चोरी कर
ही रहा था कि हवा से दीपक बुझ गया। उस
व्यक्ति ने पुन: दीपक जलाया, थोड़ी देर हवा से
दीपक फिर बुझ गया और कुबेर ने पुन:
दीया प्रज्जवलित कर दिया। यह प्रक्रिया कई
बार हुई।
रात के समय शिवजी के समक्ष दीपक लगाने पर
उनकी असीम कृपा प्राप्त हो जाती है। कुबेर यह
बात नहीं जानते थे, लेकिन रात के समय बार-बार
दीपक जलाने से भोलेनाथ कुबेर से अति प्रसन्न
हो गए।
कुबेर ने चोरी करते समय बार-बार दीपक जलाकर
अनजाने में ही शिवजी की पूजा की थी, इसके
फलस्वरूप महादेव ने उस चोर को अगले जन्म में
देवताओं का कोषाध्यक्ष नियुक्त कर दिया।
तभी से कुबेर देव महादेव के परमभक्त और
धनपति हो गए। इस कथा के अनुसार
जो भी व्यक्ति रात के समय शिव मंदिर में प्रकाश
करता है, उसे महादेव की विशेष कृपा प्राप्त
हो जाती है।
शास्त्रों के अनुसार कुबेर देव रावण के सोतेले भाई हैं
और इन्हें भगवान शंकर द्वारा धनपाल होने
का वरदान दिया गया है। रावण और कुबेर देव के
पिता विश्रवा ऋषि थे।
विश्रवा ऋषि की दो पत्नियां थीं इडविडा और
कैकसी। कुबेर देव की माता इडविडा है और वे
ब्राह्मण कुल की कन्या थीं। रावण
की माता कैकसी हैं। कैकसी एक असुर कन्या थीं,
इसी वजह से रावण असुर प्रवृत्ति का था।
आमतौर पर कुबेर देव की जो प्रतिमाएं दिखाई
देती हैं, वह स्थूल शरीर वाली और बेडोल होती हैं।
कुछ शास्त्रों में कुबेर देव को कुरूप बताया गया है,
जबकि कुछ ग्रंथों में कुबेर देव को राक्षस
माना गया है।
कुबेर देव को यक्ष भी बताया गया है। यक्ष भी धन
के रक्षक ही होते हैं। यक्ष धन की केवल रक्षा करते
हैं, उसे भोगते नहीं हैं। प्राचीन काल में जो मंदिर
बनाए जाते थे, उनमें मंदिर के बाहर कुबेर
की मूर्तियां भी होती थीं, क्योंकि कुबेर देव
की मंदिर की धन-संपत्ति की रक्षा करते हैं।
कुबेर देव का धन किसी खजाने के रूप में
कहीं गड़ा हुआ या स्थिर पड़ा रहता है। कुबेर
का निवास वटवृक्ष पर बताया गया है। ऐसे वृक्ष
घर-आंगन में नहीं होते, गांव या नगर के केन्द्र में
भी नहीं होते हैं, ऐसे पेड़ अधिकतर गांव-नगर के
बाहर रहवासी इलाकों से दूर या बियाबान में
ही होते हैं।
शास्त्रों के अनुसार धन प्राप्ति के लिए
देवी महालक्ष्मी की आराधना की जाना चाहिए।
महादेवी के साथ ही धन के देवता कुबेर देव को पूजने
से भी पैसों से जुड़ी समस्याएं दूर हो जाती हैं।
इसी वजह से किसी भी देवी-देवता के पूजन के
साथ ही इनका भी पूजन करना बहुत लाभदायक
होता है।
जीवन में धन, सुख और समृद्धि बढ़ाने के लिए धर्म
शास्त्रों के अनुसार कई उपाय बताए गए हैं। जिन्हें
अपनाने से निश्चित ही शुभ
फलों की प्राप्ति होती हैं। इन्हीं उपायों में से
एक उपाय यह है कि घर में कुबेर देव
की मूर्ति या फोटो अवश्य रखना चाहिए
क्योंकि इन्हें सुख-समृद्धि देने वाले
देवता माना जाता है।
