ध्रुव रोते-रोते अपनी मां सुनीति के पास चला गया। ध्रुव की माता सुनीति ने अपने रोते पुत्र को गोद में उठा लिया। बड़े स्नेह से पुचकार कर कारण पूछा। सब बातें सुनकर सुनीति को बड़ी व्यथा हुई। वे भी रोती हुई बोलीं - "बेटा ! सभी लोग अपने ही भाग्य से सुख या दुःख पाते हैं, अतः दूसरे को अपने अमङ्गल का कारण नहीं मानना चाहिये । तुम्हारी विमाता ठीक ही कहती है कि तुमने दुर्भाग्य के कारण ही मुझ अभागिनी के गर्भ से जन्म लिया।"

भगवान् हैं, वेदयामय हैं और हमें मिलेंगे-जब तक ऐसी श्रद्धा पक्की न हो, तब तक भजन में दृढ़ता तथा प्रेम नहीं आता। जो वस्तु मिलनी सम्भव न जान पड़ती हो, उसे पाने के लिये न तो इच्छा होती है और न प्रयत्न। जब तक मन में यह बैठा है कि हमें भगवत प्राप्ति भला कैसे होगी, तब तक भजन में मन नहीं लगता। तभी तक हदय में अनुराग जाग्रत् नहीं होता ।

जब कोई भगवान पर विश्वास करके उनकी ओर चल पड़ता है, तब वेदयामय उसकी सारी चिन्ता स्वयं करते हैं। आजकल गुरु ढूँढ़ने का, संत ढूँढ़ने का प्रयत्न बहुत लोग करते है किंतु जानने की बात यह है कि ढूँढ़ने से संत या गुरु नहीं मिला करते। संत तो भगवान के स्वरुप होते हैं । भगवान की कृपा से सच्चे अधिकारी को ही वे मिलते हैं। उनको पाने का प्रयत्न नहीं करना पड़ता, वे स्वयं आते हैं।
