भारत में करीब करीब 7000 साल पहले मंदिर प्रथा का आरंभ हुआ था । मंदिर प्रथा के आरंभ के बाद भारत में क्या हुआ और क्या नहीं हुआ ? इस विषय पर मैं बहेस करना नहीं चाहता हूँ । लोग अलग अलग देवीदेवताओं के मंदिर बनाने लगे। लोग उस आदिशक्ति के भी मंदिर बनाने लगे जिसने भगवान शिव के साथ मिलकर इस पूरे ब्रम्हांड का निर्माण किया हैं । यहाँ तक तो सबकुछ ठिक हैं । लेकिन तब से लेकर आज तक हर हिंदुस्तानी ये सोच रहा हैं कि जिन मंदिरों में जाकर हम देवी आदिशक्ति कि पूजा करते हैं, उन मंदिरों के चार दिवारी तक ही आदिशक्ति का अस्तित्व मौजूद हैं । हम लोग क्यों ये नहीं सोच पा रहे हैं कि जिस आदिशक्ति की हम पूजा करते हैं, वो तब भी मौजूद थी, जब इस धरती पर जीवन और मानव जीवन मौजूद नहीं था और वो आदिशक्ति तब भी मौजूद थी जब ये धरती और ब्रम्हांड मौजूद नहीं था। जब ये ब्रम्हांड नहीं था तब ना हमारे मंदिर थे और ना वो मूर्तियाँ थी, जो हमने बनाई हैं । फिर भी आदिशक्ति मौजूद थी । मंदिर हमने बनाये हैं और उन मंदिरों में मौजूद मूर्तियाँ भी हमने ही बनाई हैं । फिर हम ये क्यों सोचते हैं कि हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति सिर्फ़ उन मंदिरों में ही मौजूद हैं ? इस अंतरिक्ष में शक्ति का एक अनंत स्रोत मौजूद हैं । अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति के इस स्रोत के बारे में वैज्ञानिक ये कहते हैं कि शक्ति को ना बनाया जा सकता हैं और शक्ति को ना मिटाया जा सकता हैं । शक्ति को सिर्फ़ एक रूप से दूसरे रूप में परिवर्तीत किया जा सकता हैं । हम जिस आदिशक्ति की पूजा करते हैं , वो भी शक्ति का ही एक स्रोत हैं । लेकिन सवाल ये हैं कि क्या अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति का हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति के साथ कोई संबंध हैं ? कुछ पल के लिए हम ये मान लेते हैं कि अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति के साथ हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का कोई संबंध नहीं हैं । लेकिन सोचो कि क्या इस अंतरिक्ष में शक्ति का ऐसा कोई दूसरा स्रोत हो सकता हैं, जो स्रोत इस अंतरिक्ष में हमेशा से मौजूद था और हमेशा मौजूद रहेगा ? जरा सोचो कि क्या इस अंतरिक्ष में शक्ति का कोई ऐसा स्रोत मौजूद हो सकता हैं , जिसका अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति से कोई संबंध ना होने के बावजूद भी हम जिसके बारे में ये कह सके कि वहीं स्रोत शक्ति का सर्वप्रथम स्वरूप हैं? वहीं से शक्ति के हर रूप की शुरूआत हैं और वहीं पर शक्ति के हर रूप का अंत हैं । सच्चाई यहीं हैं कि इस अंतरिक्ष में शक्ति का ऐसा कोई भी दूसरा स्रोत मौजूद नहीं हैं । अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति ही शक्ति का वो स्रोत हैं, जो हमेशा मौजूद था और हमेशा मौजूद रहेगा । अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति ही शक्ति का सर्वप्रथम स्वरूप हैं । वहीं से शक्ति के हर रूप की शुरूआत हैं और वहीं पर शक्ति के हर रूप का अंत हैं । भारतीय धर्मग्रंथों के अनुसार भगवान शिवने देवी आदिशक्ति की मदद से इस ब्रम्हांड का निर्माण किया हैं । इस ब्रम्हांड के निर्माण में इस अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति की ही मुख्य भूमिका हैं । अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्तिने ही इस ब्रम्हांड का निर्माण किया हैं और वहीं इस ब्रम्हांड को चला रही हैं । सही मायनों में अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति ही आदिशक्ति हैं । इस शक्ति के अलावा कोई और शक्ति कभीभी आदिशक्ति हो ही नहीं सकती । अगर हम ये कहते हैं कि इस अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति से हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का कोई संबंध नहीं हैं, तो हम किस आधार पर हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति को आदिशक्ति कह सकते ? हम किस आधार पर हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का संबंध इस ब्रम्हांड और ब्रम्हांड में मौजूद जीवन से जोड़ सकते हैं । सच्चाई यहीं हैं कि जब तक हम हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का संबंध इस अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति से नहीं जोड़ते हैं तब तक ना हम हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति को आदिशक्ति मान सकते हैं और ना हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का कोई महत्त्व बाक़ी रहता हैं । अपनी जादुई शक्तियों से हम पर अपनी कृपा बरसानेवाली देवी, इससे अधिक हमारी देवी आदिशक्ति का कोई महत्त्व बाक़ी नहीं रहता हैं । मंदिरों में देवी आदिशक्ति की भक्ति करते करते देवी आदिशक्ति के प्रति हमारी सोच इतनी संकुचित हो चुकी हैं कि आज हम ये सोच ही नहीं पा रहे हैं कि इस अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद शक्ति ही वो आदिशक्ति हैं , जिसकी हम पूजा करते हैं । वो सिर्फ़ हम पर अपनी कृपा बरसानेवाली देवी नहीं हैं । इस ब्रम्हांड की हर बात की शुरूआत में भी वहीं हैं और इस ब्रम्हांड की हर बात के अंत में भी वहीं हैं । वहीं सबकुछ हैं । उसकी इस अंतरिक्ष में मौजूदगी अपने आप में इस बात का सबूत हैं कि ये अंतरिक्ष ही परामात्मा हैं ।
